I've been Ball-less since last April, when I sold my beautiful natural/maple 'Ray in a fit of temporary insanity. I came to my senses after I quit my last band a couple months back, and was able to swing a deal for this - an '03 2-band Black/Maple 'Ray.

Some of you may remember that I originally ordered a 2-band Dargie, but had to give it up before it even shipped for financial reasons. I've wanted one since, but a combination of availability and finances prevented it until now.

While I wish I had the funds to pick up a couple more basses (would love to get another Bongo, for starters), this one will tide me over nicely for now. I have come to the realization that I'm just a Music Man guy at heart. Sorry for the finger print smudges!

Aw man, classic bass. It looks great...glossy body and matte guard, nice.

Whatever you do, don't sell this one unless you have another lined up. And if you want a Dargie, check out the DD2 thread!

It never fails to impress me every time I see a black on black 'ray with a maple neck, just how good it looks. And in this case a 2 bander as well !! Congratulations, and hang on to this baby (or sell it to me!).

Back in black!

Indeed! It feels good to have a Stingray again. My bass-churning has slowed over the last few years, so hopefully this one will be around for a while. It certainly won't collect any dust.

The 2-band 'Rays are pretty hard to find on the used market, and unfortunately buying new isn't an option right now. A few years back I had a candy apple red 2-band, but it didn't sound as good as some of the other 2-banders I'd played in the past. This one is everything I wanted, look included. Black/maple is hard to beat.

When the 'Ray showed up, I gave the truss rod a quick adjustment, installed a pair of the EB straploks, and was off to the races. Now if I could just find rock band that doesn't play metal or covers I'd be in business. Thanks everybody for the kind words.
