Back in the fold (SR5) and a question...

... quite a while back I sold my SR4. Now that I've been playing a solid 2.5 years I wanted another, and to move to five strings. I JUST got this SR5 (serial number dates it to 2000) and LOVE IT! I am wondering what the color is/was back then...

It is a silver (w/matching headstock) that can either be cool or warm, just depends on lighting. Anyway, what color is this called? Thanks!

Interesting. They didn't have Sterling Silver ten years ago...maybe Egyptian Smoke?

I have a Sterling Silver Bongo 5 HH which seems to photograph differently than yours. I believe Sterling Silver didn't come out until 2008.

LOL, the only reason I might is if I have NO CLUE how to handle the low B
On rehearsal with it last night... I'd say about 3/4 good, with just a few "whoops, wrong string" moments!

The low B will come naturally, with about 50 hours playtime.

I'm keeping most of my fours as well. I also play in a rock-a-billy band and I use an Epiphone Jack Casady or a ****er Jazz works best for that (skinny necks, fast work!)
you're right... it appears perseverance is key.

I have the IDENTICAL bass - same year as well, s/n E13802 - yes, it IS Pearl Platinum and an awesome color... kind of a cross between the current Silver and Egyptian Smoke...
