I am new to MM. The honeymoon with the Luke I picked up this month is still on. Sonically, I can't hear much differance. All of my other Guitars that are Tremelo equiped have the backplate off. Yours?

i generally have mine off, because i'm always farting around changing the tremeo arm tension, on the hardtails i always have em on, no point having em off.

Erm, hardtails have a trem back plate? :p

Mine are locked and loaded (with springs).

I keep mine on and I keep a piece of foam in there to stop the springs from jangling around, makes the guitar sound more solid -

I thought the same thing, hardtails with back plate. rrrrrriiiiiiiiggggggghhhhhhhhttttttt

But me, it just depends, my Luke 1 l took the back plate off, my Luke 2 has it on, but just a word of advise for you guys if you have no back plate, make sure you don't play naked. :p :p :p :p

I leave the trem cavities covered just to eliminate any remote possibility of getting something pinched in the springs. ;)
