The thing is, I requested low-medium weight specifically as a priority...i know not all basses are light, but I'm only a skinny guy and if I'm going to favour the Ray 5 due to weight it makes the Sterling redundant. :(

I don't want to kick a man when he's down, but anyone who told you that you could request a weight when you ordered spoke out of turn. Short of being an artist dealing directly with EB/MM artist relations team, weight is not one of the things that can be specified when placing an order, let alone put as a "priority."

Short of Strings & Things ordering 5 of the same bass you wanted and sending you the lightest of the five, this request was always going to be the luck of the draw, and anyone telling you differently didn't know what they were talking about or were being disingenuous.

I don't know what is meant by 'piling on', but I think the general vibe of the responses here are just sympathetic posts to Movielife who has received a damaged bass. That's not an ideal situation at all ...although I do agree that you can't really be picky about the weight of a custom order. I mean, you can, but that's just wood varying, like it tends to do.

All good. EBMM/S&T/Bass Merchant been great as I knew they would. Expect another new bass day once they arrive. Cheers

Sorry to hear about the damaged case. I concur with what a few others have said, contact the store that sold you the basses and EBMM Customer Service if need be.
