I'm not aware of any physical reason you couldn't, but why do you want to?

My music teacher says that the badass 2 bridge is awsome (apparently), i cant notice the difference, but he says that they are better, and i have the money.

Are they better for pop/slap style?

Does he sell them?

They're supposed to be better than stock Fender bridges, the idea being that increasing the bridge mass increases sustain. From what I've read from people who've installed them, the difference is underwhelming even on a Fender.

Musicmans have a good quality, high mass bridge in any case. You won't hear any difference.

You would be out of your mind to put a badass bridge on a Musicman bass. IMO, Fenders may sound better with a badass, but the Musicman bridge is plenty enough as it is.

The whole point of the Badass is to add mass. I prefer the sound of Fender basses with the normal bridge. I want a Jazz Bass to sound like a Jazz Bass, and a P Bass to sound like a P Bass.

There is absolutely no reason to put a Badass on a SUB. Franky--your music teacher should stick to teaching you how to play, and not making unnecessary upgrades to your bass because they are "awesome."

I can tell no difference in my Jazz with the stock bridge or the Badass on it. Maybe certain strings would change that but unless the bridge is missing even on a Fender there is not need to change it.

As for EB they build playable basses that need no mods. IMHO.

ya ... badass 2 on a fender = makes me happy ...

the badass2 is built to retrofit on a fender without any mods ... but you might have to mod an eb to get it to fit (i dont know).

the mm bridge is solid and like eveyone said already ... its got the mass that makes the badass stand out.

its easy to get bit by the upgrade bug. lots of people do that stuff without knowing why or without seeing/hearding/appreciating the difference (happens a lot with computers too).

if you cant tell the diiff then leave it be

I have a badass on an old Pbass. It was on when I bought it. Great theory but it doesn't make any difference that I can hear. I also have another Pbass , same year with the stock bridge.

Just like all the guys said above me, keep the stock MM bridge on your bass. You won't hear any difference if you are still in the "lessons" stage. I agree with Bassmonkee, have the instructor teach you how to play, not mucking up your bass. Next thing you know he'll be telling you to get an "awesome Ibanez".

Please explain the Ibanez hate. I know for a fact that Carol Kaye is now playing Ibanez. SRX- 700.

I did play one before I bought the EBMM SR 5. I did not buy it because of name or sound I did not buy because I simply seen the MM bass of my dreams and color and everything impressed my wife. Who bought my EBMM bass for me.

As an honest player with somewhat of a good ear. I know that the SRX 700 sounds better than 70 % than any other supposedly unigue sounding basses out there. It was a player. I did not want an Ibanez and wouldn't buy one based on a mentor's love for it. I tried it and it was all she said it was. It wasn't me.

Delete this if you think I am being unfair, but everyone including EB needs to look some at what Ibanez is doing now. 700 dollars tops will get you a bass that rivals any P bass or Jazz that Fender ever produced.

Nothing will rival a MM period IMHO. I love the sound and know what I will buy forever more during my life. That too is my opinion. I do think those less fortunate than myself could do OK with the Ibanez SRX series.

Shame on me, I do have to be honest with myself and you guys.

It's cool that you are being honest. I respect that. Why I say that about Ibenez is i had a fretless 5 string once and it was the crappiest, cheapest sounding bass I've ever played. Prolly why to this day i don't try another 5 string. Granted, I haven't played ALL the available Ibanez' out there. I'm just not going to waste my cash on any more of them when there are so many other good basses available for the same price. as it has been said on this forum many times: To each his own.
