Well Spkirby sent it out uber quickly and I got it today which is AWESOME.

I couldn't resist taking a peak while at work and I was incredibly pleasued. A truly beautiful guitar and the only HH I have right now.

It's got a Purple top which I can't find amongst the current color choices. Also a rosewood fingerboard which suits me very well (though there's a big dent on the 6th fret, I may have to get the iron and damp towel out).

She's also got a two face neck; one side with birdesye, the other with flame...!
Matched headstock, cream binding... Honestly a VERY classy guitar.

Tone wise, she's the one for me. I got the single coil tones (I LOVE position 2 on this baby..!) and the crunchy humbucker... Nice. I don't think I'll use the neck humbucker on its own much but it's a nice one. Plays lovely too and I think she's got 009s on which I've never used in my life... May have to switch to 10s once the neck gets used to its new home!

A VERY nice guitar. Thanks dude :)

Oh and I'm just back from seeing Brian Setzer's Rockabilly Riot. Absolutely incredible. Good day :D

Outstanding, brother.

Great buy. Neck looks well figured indeed.

I give it a week, and I guarantee you'll stumble on a lick or phrase to love that neck pickup too.

I'm so glad that it got to you quickly and that you are happy with it. Enjoy it, its a good one!

Funny, I prefer the neck pickup to the bridge these days!

I'm incredibly happy. It's always a gamble to buy second hand though thankfully I already have an Axis Sport MM90s so I knew roughly what this one would be like.

I'm really surprised by the 9s. It's been 6 years since I've last played with strings this light and it really changes things. It's smoother to play.
All my guitars are in 10-52s or 11s and this is the only guitar I just got that I didn't change strings on! I'll just use the 009s and enjoy it this way. Then she's getting a set of 10-52s and I'll clean her up.

I've only played her about three or four hours this weekend but it was pure bliss. Just a lovely, sweet sounding guitar. A keeper!

Pierre,

excellent stuff, another happy customer! Look after it and play it often!

So you need to clean her up already? I polished that guitar to a mirror-like finish before I sent it out to you! :)

Make sure that you report back when you've switched to 10's, I'd be interested in knowing how they feel and sound!

Cheers!

Ah she doesn't need the clean up don't worry! She was indeed very clean and looked beautiful.. but whenever I re-string my guitars I do the following:

1) re-tighten every screw/nut/bolts
2) examin the fretboard and clean (steel wool) or treat (lemon oil) the wood
3) polish the body
4) setup tuners (correct feel to the keys)
5) re-intonate if needed

Whenever I receive a new guitar I also always dismantle it/reassmble it; both for learning purposes and to make sure I set her up my way. This is the first time I've not done so!

So all my guitars end up cleaned up whenever I change strings, whether they truly need it or not :D I make sure never to abuse the wood with too much lemon oil or steel wool though.

Definitely switch to the Regular Slinky 10's. Much better tone than the 9's, in my humble opinion...

Have a great day...

Ah I don't use EB strings, can't take the feel of them! Been using D'addarios since I can remember in fact. For a given string gauge I find they are tighter, which I prefer to slinkys. I definitely agree about the tone though; thicker and bigger, but I'm curious enough about the 009s to keep on trying them :)
