Hi,

I have a quick question about the Silhouette Baritone tuning;
Is the tuning HEADGH in the same octave as a 7 string, only without the high E? Or is it an octave below?

I've heard different things, so I'm kinda confused. :confused:

Also, what string gauge is used on the Silo Baritone?

Thanks

H? I omly know notes from A to G... :confused:

As I understand, you can get it tuned from the factory to either A-A (ADGCEA, 3 and 1/2 tones lower then standart) or E-E (EADGBE) a whole octave lower then a standart guitar.

But JP used it on Panick Attack on Bb-Bb.

No, it'll be like a standart guitar tuned 3 and 1/2 steps down, there is a diffrence, because, if it were a 7 string a step down it would have been ADGCFA, and if it's a 6 string tuned down 3 and 1/2 steps it would be ADGCF#A.

However, once you have it, you can tune it anyway you want, like a drooped 7 or a drooped 6 or whatever.

Ok, thanks.

Yeah, I kinda meant if it was in the same octave range.

Reason I'm asking is because I tried a Fender Jaguar Baritone in the music store the other day, and it had MUCH heavier string gauge than a 7 string (even dropped down)
The guy at the store told me it was tuned B-B, so my conclusion is that it was tuned an octave below 7 string standard tuning.
So I wanted to know if it was the same with the Silo Baritone, 'cause I always thought it was in the same range as a 7 string dropped down a whole step, like Plaschkes said.

Anyone else know for sure?

What is this "H" you speak of? This must be some theory we earthlings can't wrap are pea sized brains around.

This has quickly become the most amusing thread ever.

We are talking about the SAME Silhouette Bass, just with different string for different tunings, right?
