between the two, who do you think has better customer service? who has better pricing? who has better selection?

IMO
better selection: bass central, always in stock :) while Chuck has lesser in stock MM but they can order for you

pricing: chucklevins, cause they sell you the bottom-line price, the base price from EB :)

customer service: to me, chucklevins' Brian Meader rocks, i dunno but some here like BassCentrals' BF etc :p

hope it helps

Ska, I've had good service from Bass Central, but talk to bassplyr (Doug). He's an authorized MM Dealer and will take good care of you.

I mean, we all live here, so he has to.

are you sure, beaver told me that they could beet any prices on mm basses.
standard colour, Matching headstock, optional pickguard at basscentral is: 1199$ while it costs 1220$ at chuklevins,

maybe brian would give me a better price if i told him about basscentral, maybe not.

as from my chat with brian ...

he gaves me

Bongo 5: 1120 base price single pickup + 80 for another pickup = so $1200 will give you a Bongo 5 with HH or HS ... out the door! + 30 for shipping

I go to Chuck's wuite often and they dont have a great selection. They are hard to get someone to help you because they are so busy. But Bass Central has a billion MM's and they have great customer service. Chuck's does have some good prices on strings though.

My experiences have been quite the opposite. I live 30 minutes from Chuck's and go there quite often. Unless something has happened recently to deplete their stock, they've always had what I wanted. When I bought my Sterling in 2001, I was told to just tell them what combination I wanted and they'd have it as long as it wasn't something too off the wall. They may not have a full range of matching headstocks etc . . . but from what I understand, the "normal" color/neck/pg combos are always in stock. They are always busy but I've never had a problem getting a phone quote or getting someone to help me once I'm there. When I was shopping for an SR5 last year, same thing. They said to just tell us what you want. I'm curious, what is it that you want that Chuck's doesn't have?

All Your Bongo Are Belong To Me.

this is very excellent.

much better than enjoying every sandwich-- which felt very Dennis Miller to me (in other words a reference that I did not understand)

When Warren Zevon was dying, a reporter asked him if he had any advice. He said, "Enjoy every sandwich."

By the way, not to be annoying, but did I mention that bassplyr Doug is an authorized MM dealer?

For God's sakes, people! Wake up! Support our members!

I'm going to Chuck's tomorrow, and I have a credit card that I'm not afraid to use. They better not have a HH4 Bongo in one of my chosen colors.
