I like the chrome truss. I tried to call you from the store on Friday tom, to see if you got it, but it looks like you did! Good to see you like it. If you have any issues, please let me know! Thanks!

Seriously: What's the technical and tonal differences between a stock 2-band as it can be ordered any day and a Classic Series?
Oli, I'm betting there is no electronic difference...and why would there be when the current 2 band eq is reported to still be the same circut used since 79.
My guess is that many folks have been used to the 3eq being everywhere for over 20 years now, and kind of forgotten about that 2eq sound, and that it was even still available.
As a big dyed-in-the-wool fan of the 2eq, I will say that my current '07 2eq and the other '07 2eq I sold earlier, both sound just like my '81 Ray (more being equal-it's also a top load bridge), and very close to my '78. All my knob settings are the exact same...makes sense; same circut, same settings, same sound.

I too can't wait for the Classic to become available. The round vintage profile specs of the neck and gloss finish is what I've been begging for for years!

... that and the "cheap looking" part.

I am so evil :)
So let this matter rest. I am sorry for my words and didn´t want to be impolite, but FOR ME it´s too bling-bling. English is not my native language and i didn´t want to write a long sentence with too many mistakes in it. Some of you seem to be personally hurt by my post :(

Greetings,

Robert

Yeah, the poly finish on the figured neck and board is really sweet. Definitely gonna go with that (again), and if Fiesta Red isn't one of the first production colors after NAMM, I'll go with ... maybe I shouldn't say. It just occurred to me that one of the 2 colors that had been decided on as of the BPL show (according to what I heard there) is one that I'm pretty sure hasn't been mentioned or "revealed" here yet. In case that's intentional, I'd better keep mum. But that's what I'm getting if Fi Red doesn't take the 3rd spot (which was TBD as of BPL).

Nah we understand, there a many people here who's 1st language isn't english. However yours is probably better han mine, and I AM English. But yeah, you must remember to take lots of what is said here in jest, and not too seriously. I for one appreciate everyone's opinions, and if you havn't got the ability to express your view in another way (and not have loads of mistakes) that's absolutely fine. Sometimes, I even feel that there is a language barrier between me (and other British forumites) and those folks from the US of A.

You're good, Robert, but wait until you see one with your own eyes.

oh how i wish you'd tell us and let us rejoice in the knowledge of what many of us will soon buy. Your loose lips would allow us to fall into a vicious circle of coveting and waiting, hoping for the future.

but i understand that it would be "uncool" to spill the beans before BP is cool with it

Just over a decade ago I became a fan of the EBMM Stingray. It took me until last April to afford and acquire the wife's blessing to obtain my SR5. Once the Stingray was in my possession I thought my life was complete, then I went to the MM website and found the Bongo 6, then the 25th Anniversary Stingray, then the Big-Al, and now these vintage Stingrays!! Good grief! Please stop Big Poppa or I think I may actually explode from all the G.A.S. (Gear Acquisition Syndrome)

Hopefully the planets will align again soon (probably not for a couple years :(), I just have no idea which of these to order next:

Bongo 6 HSp Candy Red
Big-Al of Undetermined Color
25th Anniversary SR5 Flame
Classic SR Sonic Blue

This is very intriguing - is it Peach

Is it possible that those wizards at EBMM have recreated the 77 pre-amp??

I need to own this bass. JOSH

That's EXACTLY what I was thinking... I also was wondering about those bridges - are they stamped with the serial #'s too?
