I might be crazy, but I played the Bongo 4 last night for a couple of hours, learning some old Steely Dan stuff...and every time I'd tweak the controls, I'd fall in love with that bass all over again.
So the way I look at it, it's months down the road, it isn't new anymore, and I'm still in awe when I play it, and that means something.
Maybe I'll sell all my Fishes and go All Bongo, All The Time.
I'm going to guess that I'm a lot older than you, which sometimes but not always translates into more disposable income.
You'll get there! Meanwhile, I gotta tell you, a drummer friend of mine gave me his Squier P bass to adjust for him a couple of weeks ago. I fooled with it, got it set up nicely and to tell you the truth, I couldn't stop playing the thing!
yea, i spent like 6 months tweaking mine(its my first bass and ive only been playing electric for a lil over two years) and i got it to be pretty nice. my teacher even said i have no excuse to practice cuz my bass is set up really well. and i did it all myself. i just really really want a music man(currently im having internal conflicts between a bongo and a ray). and yea im 16 and i see you have a wife and a kid, not to mention all those basses, so yea im pretty sure you are a good deal older than me. but thanks for the encouraging words. what a great guy you are, jack.

I know how you feel, skabassist. I'm only 18. I've been through 7 different basses and I regret selling each and everyone. But now I've got a good paying job and the patience I need to save up. Its a weird story as to how I bought my first Ray. I had found a used G&L L2000 at my Guitar Center for $450. I get the money in the bank and pay with debit card. Before that cleared, I found an Ibanez ATK that I just had to have for $350. I get the Ibanez and its alright. Not the beef I was looking for. A week later, I sell the Ibanez for $325 and L2000 for $600, ad $200 of my own cash and I have a brand new translucent teal Stingray. Three months later, I get an offer from Midopa for the Blue Sparkle Ray. I though I had settled down. I get to talking with the guy I sold my original Ray too and I realize I want it back. He says he'll trade it for a Stingray 5. So here I am....
ok
i will have money for a mm soon
thats right
joe is actually going to lose his mm bass virginity
my dad finally though i had been playin long enough that he was gonna help on the $$$
