Great story.

So that makes 9 Sabre fans now Jack. :D

Jim

Good one spidey! Guess this guy's the real deal. Could this heartworming reunion be the spark that finally brings back the Sabre? .................................................................................... (waiting patiently for the usual answer...)

Yeah, I meant heartworming :p

Congrats Vinxbass and that is one sweet bass. Even though I was actually only 10-12 years old at the time I do remember that song playing on the radio. But since those basses were before my time with MM, what made the Sabre so special? I am just curious because I only really know about current MM basses.

Vinxbass, in a "6 degrees of seperation" moment, I guess that means you know a good friend of mine Kevin Chalfant?...Congrats on getting that bass back! What a great story. I guess I should stop dissing FB as a tremendous waste of time! -Capt. Don

You know I'll be honest with you, I really don't know what made the Sabre a special bass. If I could take a wild guess, it's because it was the first generation double pup bass that Music Man made. It was also my first active bass.

Kevin replaced Ric Jacobs as the singer for the 2nd Steel Breeze album which was released in Europe. What a great voice he's got.

Capt Don you're friends with Kevin Chalfant? Very cool...I remember him from the band 707....great singer! "I could be good for you" is one of my favorite songs from my high school years!

Wow, I am so happy for you. It gives me hope that maybe someday I'll come across my '79 guild that was stolen from me at a gig probably about 8 or 9 years back. My first bass, I loved it so, but the good news I guess is that it finally inspired me to buy the bass I'd always wanted, a sterling :D. Still would love to have that one back.

Wow I remember seeing Steele Breeze at Cal Expo when I was a little kid, must have been one of my first concerts. Great story thanks for sharing.
