Bass strings, no 40 - 100 set?

I've been looking at strings with the intention of buying. If I base this on a 4-string bass set, nickelwound I find

Extra Slinky (40,60,70,95)

Super Slinky (45,65,80,100)

Hybrid slinky (45,65,85,105)

When I want to go a little lighter, I want to go 40 - 100. I like thin G and D-string for melodic sounds and nice singing vibrato. That does NOT mean I like light E and A strings.

I feel that you have overlooked a segment. Where is the 40 60 80 100 set?

Best regards,
Raimond S

Edit DIsregard the 105 in the header.

Raimond ..
unfortunately we do not offer a pre-made set with those gauges. Your best bet would be to buy the strings as singles and create your own "Custom Raimond Set" ;) Lots of players do this to suit their personal feel.

Thanks for the reply.
Incidently, surfing a little, both Fender and Sadowsky offer the gauges I mentioned.
Anyway, gonna try all sets just to see if I can get used to what's in an already packed set :)

Factory Strings on OLP

Just picked up an OLP Tony Levin 5 string. I know the bass comes from the factory with EB strings...which I've never played before, but like very much. What I wanted to know is what gauge set are installed from the factory on OLP 5 string basses?

You'll probably need to contact OLP for this information, as EB do not build OLP basses, they only license them (I think that's right). Something about allowing a copy of the Stingray design (from what I remember) but I SUPPOSE someone from here MIGHT know what OLP string their instruments with if they exclusively use EB strings and there is some kind of official relationship. If nothing else you'd be better off starting another thread rather than hiding a new question in this one where the forum-visiting employees may not return. Good luck. :)
