The bass is worth what the market will bear, not a penny more nor a penny less.
If you need to get a certain amount for it and that's more than the market, it will not sell, period.
The best way to sell, I've found, is to ebay it with a very low starting price (like stupid low) and make it a long auction. I've never failed to sell an instrument for more than I thought it'd bring in that way.
I made a 15% profit selling an Al that way.

I sold my last non-EBMM bass like this and it does work well. I got more then I expected. There here simular auctions with start prices that received no bids and mine went for about €100 more than I anticipated.
