My wife and my three little girls (6,5 & 2)are all off to Ireland for the summer tomorrow morning and I will not be joining them for 3 weeks!!!

I will really miss them when I get home every evening and especially at the weekends,

BUT!!!

The courier turned up on Saturday morning with my new Line 6 PODxt LIVE.

SO,

To help fill the void in the living room, as from 7pm tomorrow night, my 4 women will be replaced by one Musicman Stingray 4, one GK 400RB + RBS 2x10, one Line 6 PODxt LIVE + pilot manual, one IPOD 20GB, one set of headphone, one crate of beer.

Do you know what, I think I might just get through the next 3 weeks OK!!!!!!!!

For a moment there I thought this was a bad news thread!

Cool - I too enjoy the occasional "I have the place all to my self and I can do whatever I want" time.

For the active husband & father, it happens so rarely that one can have guilt-free "me" time. I'm sure you'll miss your girls, but do try and make the best of the time you have on your own! ;)

Pills to cure your hangover? I don't even take an aspirine when I have a hangover, I don't like to take pills that are not necessary.

Ok, OK, let's not get tooooooo carried away with the beer consumption, especially on a "school night"! Just a couple of beers to keep me company whilst I figure out how to fly this new POD.

I am supposed to be cutting the beer out completely for three weeks to try and squeeze back into my best suit for a wedding in Ireland at the end of August!!!

The day after that wedding, I WILL be looking for many types of hangover cure!!!!

Might as well buy a roland loop staion pedal...unless the pod live can record and playback loops??

One of the coolest bass solos I ever heard was Victor Wooten's during a flecktone show on the Little Worlds tour 2003. He opened up the 2nd set after intermission with a looping multiple part bass solo that got the whole place in a near riot.

like an orchestra of basses. Though I think only 3 loops plus what he put on top of them.

Let's just stick to the one bass line at a time for the moment!

I can just imagine the response I would get from the band members if I started that carry on.

I am hoping that the POD is gonna help me sort out my sound with the variable effects and amp and cab modelling, plus a little fun into the bargin.

I am looking forward to trying the reverse delay where what you play is repeated back to front (up to 2 seconds of delay) - that could be cool for 10 mins and then probably will start to p*ss everyone off.

Anyone tried the original POD in a live/rehearsal setting?

I just can't get a decent signal/volume level.....

BTW - I'm a real techno phobe when it comes to effects...

That same thing happened to me listening and seeing Jaco play to a loop the first time on Joni Mitchell's "Shadows and Light" tape.

Enjoy the POD!

Vodka makes you feel all warm and cozy inside :D

Sorry, but Vodka has no place in our home - don't wanna put the thread on a downer, so suffice to say that Vodka has brought a great deal of unpleasentness to my wife and her family when she was growing up. Whilst it makes most feel all warm and cozy inside, it turns the odd person into a vicious lunatic.

I'll stick to the beer thanks all the same.

Anyway, this thread is about me and the new Line6 POD and a good old SR4 (lefty!)
