Hello Kids

After a lengthy conversation with James at The Perfect Bass it was decided that due to the horrible damage that Hurricane Gustav inflicted on Baton Rouge that we would not be able to guarantee a suc essful bash there.

Given the short notice and the inability of us being able to locate a local host we are going to have to postpone the bash until next year. Sorry about this but I just cant do one unless it is perfect and I cannot figure out how to due it this year in another place

That's a bummer but totally understandable considering the circumstances.

Just like waiting for a new MM to arrive - waiting for an official bash is always worth it!

Wishing the best to the folks at TPB!!

When I saw the pictures from that area, I was wondering whether the forum bash would be relocated... however, I was much more worried how people survived this desaster!

Completely understandable.

All the best to everyone in Red Stick - and keep an eye out for that Ike fellow, you Gulf Coast residents.

Sounds like a good plan, Poppa.

The Gulf Coast is getting more than its fair share of hurricane activity lately.

I feel for you guys over in Lusianah.

Was good to get the email saying everybody was okay. :)
Hope your recovery is quick and easy.

As for the bash.. oh well. Sometimes, good folks do their best and things still don't work out.

Thanks very much to BP and folks at TPB for the effort.

Now we got time to start the travel plans for the next one. Blocking off all of next year, just to be sure. :)

More than understandable BP. You've already been a champion with last few bashes, I really wouldn't feel right ASKING for another one. You're a good man in my book.

I plan on going down to TPB to check out the store in person in early November.

I spoke to Brandt yesterday and he said they finally got power back that day!

He also said that everyone is okay health-wise and sounded in good spirits.

Here's hoping that LA is spared from any further carnage as the hurricane season passes through. (Still don't know how the people in Cuba do it. They get hit every time.)

BP’s forum bashes are an unforgettable experience and the only word that comes close to describing one is ‘magic”.

I don’t buy EBMM products because of the company parties, but they sure add to the fun we have here. BP and company make every single person feel welcome, even a bull headed teenager (my son). The fellowship with the friends here on the forum, hanging out with the major league endorsers and all the activities add up to a BLAST!
It takes me months to absorb everything that happens

When and if there is another bash I highly encourage anyone to go, you won’t regret it or forget it!

My thought and prayers are with everyone in the Gulf Coast, looks like you all are under the gun again. I know BP had to make a tough decision and I know it is the right one.

Be safe down there!

Sucks, but that's life. And, there are certainly more important things than bashes and parties.

Maybe this means I'll order a new Bongo, instead....

SSSSHHHHHHH!!!!! We don't want you-know-who to associate no-bash with greater capex for buying Bongos!!! (kidding). I have to admit, though, I was thinking the same thing ... Sterling Silver Bongo 4 H sooner than later?? Hmmmmm ....

Gulf coast states have bigger things to deal with these days - plan for the worst and hope for the best.

When that next bash opportunity comes 'round, I'll be there - the Mrs. wouldn't have it any other way.

We'll start saving now for next year's bash then - to ensure we can make it!

But a Bongo would be mighty appealing! :D
