I noticed that my piezo on my JPX7 has stopped working recently, so I went to swap the battery today to find that I can't open the battery box. Other than what I can see on the yellow sheet of paper that came with the guitar is there a special trick to open the battery box?

Also, I tried to unscrew and remove the battery box, but it doesn't seem to want to come out of the route, any ideas on how to get it out, preferably without scratching the awesome finish?

I had to remove a battery box from my JP6 and it was tight to get out.
I used a blade slid underneath the plastic and using some cardboard as a fulcrum I prised it out.

I seems strange that you can't open the battery compartment. Insert your fingernail into the depression on the box and pull it towards you - at the same time push down on the other end of the box. Also clench your fist and give the box a clout - the shock should free it somewhat - yeah you don,t wanna see what some repair techs do to guitars to get the job done - ask Lukather101 when I told him to look away as I did a job on his morse neck lol!! If you still have the problem tomorrow night e mail me on Spudwales at googlemail dot com and we can talk over the phone - alternatively give Strings n Things a ring and see what they say (BigPoppa would rather you phone S & T !!)
