So the plate arrived this morning having been back ordered since August 2015, I was not expecting it till April from the last time the back order date was amended so nice surprise through the door (beats the gas bill!! :p ) so wasted no time in fitting it. Looks loads better and as you can see from the pictures :)

And also, nearly forgot, I don't know if this has been covered or mentioned before but in the UK the new "Duracell Duralock" 9v battery's that are being sold at the moment do not fit the existing battery boxes anyway so I had best order another plate for the other StingRay and be done with it (kept the Perspex home-made-temporary cover just in case) :)

Just done a repeat operation on the buttercream Stingray, I got the back plate for this one in under 48hrs, I guess they have a couple in stock now :p

Ok so I’m back at it again. Second day of owning my new to me Bongo, didn’t break it myself but at some point a battery has leaked in the box, and one of the terminals is loose so it’s cutting out intermittently. Done a quick fix on it but it’s only a temporary measure. I have no time or love for battery boxes so I’m not looking to replace it.
Any suggestions where I might get a plate made the same size as the battery box ?
I was lucky with the StingRays as used production plates off the classics to cover with but this is going to be tricky. Any suggestions?

Glad I'm already subscribed to this thread :)

Very much doubt I’m the first person to remove a battery box and needing a cover.
Got to be something out there that’s not homemade StingRays were a lot easier
