So I'm getting my Stingray this week. It's equiped with a 3eq. I read on the forums that a battery is needed to get sound out of it.

Now here's my question: What battery should I use? Can I use rechargable battery's and do they have to be more than 200mAh?

Does the brand of the battery mather, or can i just pick any 9V rechargable block battery?

I want to play right away so I'm trying to get the best battery so I'm sure to play when the Stingray arives! ;)

Thanks!

I wouldn't use any rechargable batteries in a bass. Just use the one it comes with.
Roger. Someplace in the Forums BP (Mr. Ball) briefly discusses batteries - but bottom line is use the Duracells. Rechargeables don't deliver sufficient amperage, resulting in un-driving the electronics, resulting in bad sound. Also, remember there's no "on/off" switch on these things - unplug the instrument cable when you're not playing to conserve battery use. Cheers and happy slapping.

The best batteries to use IMO are the Duracell ProCell 9 v batteries. They are what most people in pro audio use for their gear. You can't buy them in regular stores and you will likely have to order them but you can get a brick of 12 for about $15 online. Just Google "Duracell Procell" and you will find plenty of online vendors. I have the same pro cell in my Stingray for a year now and I don't hear any signs of quitting so far.

I've been using Energizers for years with no problems.

Show of hands: who tests their batteries with their tongue?

What is the advantage of the "Duracell Procell" over the regular Duracell or Energizer batteries?

I've been using Energizer batteries in my Ray5 since 2004. When i can find them-the E2 ones i prefer. I feel like they last a bit longer before going dead.
