I have a 20th anniversary stingray that I bought a few years ago. I gig with it regularly but lately I've been having issues with the battery compartment. It seems that battery isn't staying in contact with the contacts causing the bass to cut in and out? I actually have to put tape under the flip cover to push the battery down.......

The wired thing is that this also just started occuring on a newer stingray I have too (2005 I think).

Anyone else having this problem? Is there a better battery compartment I can look into? I had it replaced once already but the problem came back......

The problem is that different batteries are slightly different in lenght. Search on this forum and you'll find quite some threads about this topic. There are certain brands that fit better, some worse. But you can always put a piece of cardboard or paper at the end of the batter to force the contact.
