Lately I've been going through batteries pretty fast. A given battery used to last me months - now I'm getting a few weeks if I'm lucky.

I don't leave my bass plugged in and the last few batteries were from different batches.

My only clue is that I recently replaced the volume pot on my SR5 - could I have resoldered something wrong?

The resoldering may be the prob. Make sure you haven't droped a blob of solder on the circuit board which could be short circuiting adjacent copper tracks. Also check that the shielding wire from the PUP is not touching the centre and right hand pins of the Vol pot.

Have you noticed any difference in the operation of the vol control?

P.S. Also check the area where you soldered the pot pins. It's possible the solder may have flowed over to adjacent tracks.

Thanks! Maybe after the holidays I'll have time to check this out. I'll chime in one way or the other.

Thanks again! :)
