Here is the thought process. If we shut down the forum we would have pissed off all.
No pun intended but I'm not going to take my 'ball'and run. That is old school corporate.
I put a face to it and stood my ground.

The other factor is I rarely get a chance to show the team that I have their back. They were exhausted, burnt out and if you think that the posts were bad you should see some of the emails>>>>WHOA

I found it rewarding in that we difused the situation, found out that you guys really are great, and I think that we have to make sure that these bands read the rules and we need to emphasise the remote chances of being picked next year. Some people thought just having their 40 best friends play them that would sway the verdict. It wasnt a popularity contest. the next phase where we give them 24 grand worth of gear is a popularity contest.

If these kids didn't like rejection in their quest for fame and fortune maybe they should try another line of work

I so wish when I was a younger man with fire in my belly that a company had provided me with all the opporunity afforded by something like the Battle.

I'd still think about entering us, but we're in the UK.

These f***ing kids just don't know they're born.

And to be rude enough to say you lied, swindled & cheated. It beggars belief.

But still, BP, you made a frigg'n stack of $'s right, so who gives a $hit? ;)
 
This is just a general observation and I am not applying this to anyone in particular but it seems to me that many of the young people that I know today are unwilling to accept blame for anything. They seem to want to point the finger at anyone other than themselves. Being late for work, getting a traffic ticket, not winning a contest etc.. Maybe it's the way that they are being raised? If you don't grow up having to take responsibility for your failures and shortcomings you would certainly have a tendency to place blame on anything or anyone other than yourself. I'm sure that many of the young adults here that have been brought up right will agree with me that this is a trend among their peers. IMHO.

Seriously, though. It's important that our kids are taught to be responsible and take responsibility for themselves - doing my best to raise my two boys that way. :)

It is awesome that you appreciate an opportuity to show your support for the staff. I think you also handled the 'battle kidz' with care. At my workplace, I also like to roll up my sleeves and get my hands dirty when I can. It keeps me grounded, so that the cushy aspects of my job don't go to my head. :)

Don't suffer the whiners much. For every one of them there are a dozen that appreciated the chance to play.

I find that people get their power from either positive or negative energy. People who derive their energy from focusing on positive things generally go around smiling quietly: they don't generally shout their happiness to the rooftops. Those who are happiest when they are in crises are the ones who bitch incessantly about how they deserve more and are denied by others: it's an excuse for not doing better that lends comfort. You might think that some of these people are comforting themselves through their complaints.

So keep a peaceful heart, knowing that you and yours have put out the good karma and many happy people have recieved it. The good you set out will spread further than you think.
