Hey Gang,

Been a while since last post. Oddly, I haven't bought any more ebmm's since. Still holding at 6.

With no urge to splurge. Looks like I'm selling my Les Paul though :D

Good, not great.

Great energy. Most people stood the ENTIRE concert.
Bass solo was horrible noise
Drum solo too long
Not enough material from Roth era (like 4 or 5 songs)

Eddie seemed to be having a blast. I felt his playing was good when tapping, just okay when soloing w/o tapping.

And thank freakin G-d for ear plugs!

Not just too loud but an overall mix that just wasn't right, but improved tons with the foam plugs.

Very cool when eddie and wolfie jammed together.

Gimme Steve Morse (and Bela Fleck) any day. (Go see Bela in Arizona in November. It'll rock your world. POssibly better than Morse)

Oh, and Chick Corea with his electrik band (LA sept 14-19 at Catalina B&G)

PS Wonder if I pissed both Norm and Darrell off in this post :p

Nah, would actually agree with you that VH in Vegas was not as great as the night before. Ed seemed off all night, IMO. Good to see WVH with his pop out there. They didn't do that in Phx, and that was good to see that I got at least ONE opportunity to see that as well. The guy just loves his kid, what can you say? :)

I sat a tad to the right of FOH on Friday, and the sound actually wasn't so bad there. Of course, I was probably farther back than you, but the mix was actually better there than in Phoenix. It was piercing there, but I didn't care at that point, as I was mostly enthralled from being there, and later being 40-60 away from them!

MA needs to break out those Live Without a Net type solos, and get a little more melodic (hint: http://www.fulwilder.com/LWAN will get you the audio of that, if you'd like to peek it!), and I'm not a major fan of drum solos. These cats are still pumping it out at 50 though, and though they're not in the Stones range, I still tip the cap.

Speaking of being pissed off, I hope you're not at ME for not meetin' up with ya in Vegas. I was dying that night, with being up since 6AM, a 5 hour drive (including speeding ticket -- 80 in 65...), all the walking that my fat butt did, as well as having to become makeshift scalper after a reneg on a deal for the tickets for Sat.'s show, which was money added into the vacation budget.

Had your cell on hand, and was looking forward to meeting with ya, but circumstances at the time put me in a bind, and I had to care of business so that I could survive up there, and ultimately get home. Just wanted you to know that I didn't blow you off...would have loved to sit around the blackjack table with ya and lose money. :)

Glad to know you're back in one piece, otherwise brotha! :)

No biggie. I lost about $175. About 150 on craps, 25 on BJ (uh, blackjack. but maybe the other woulda been a better value).

Not bad considering I gambled about 20 different times.

We stayed awhile at MB after the show, was wondering if you made it there alright.

I'm going back Nov 7th for Bela fleck. Tickets are only 40 bucks and he picks like a mother. Man I love his music. Don't miss him. It's jawdropping foot stomping music.

Yeah, we got up there just fine; I truly appreciate your concern. :) Made it up there and back as well as around there all weekend, without a map, all by memory. Not bad for someone who doesn't have a clue. (That's what my friend's wife told me when he, I, my girl and I went up there in January. I know that place about as good as Phoenix at this point.)

I'll tell you what though, I was full on running on E after the concert; we got back to the hotel and I hit the sack, out like a light.
