Tyler earns himself a place in the Marshall family. He said, "I wish my room looked like this."
His parents don't.

And the Taylor family, while we're at it...

Dargin and Brian were kind enough to let us have first class seats on the "Buddy Holly Express" back to Coachella.

Who is that long-haired guy flying the plane? He doesn't do "the pot" does he?

Oh hell! It's Steve Morse! No problem, then. He's a certified Air Transport Pilot with over 5,500 hours under his belt! (Possibly the coolest thing to ever happen to Tyler or myself, obviously.)

Tyler, Jimmy Cox, John Ferraro, and our beloved Big Poppa warming up the gear.

Huey Lewis teaches Tyler and Luke that "B" is not the harmonica player's favorite key.

Luke, Jimmy Cox, Tyler Dow Bryant, John Ferraro, Big Poppa and Steve Morse. Coolness critical mass could easily have been reached on that stage.

Steve Morse played the best rock guitar solo I've ever seen. Note Bill Murray singing background with Luke and dancing. He was good for more than one belly laugh.

That's the stage light on Mr. Morse's nose. It did not affect his amazing chops, I assure you.

A Bryant and a Morse!

Ben shamelessly asks BP to take a picture of him with Bill Murray.

The same with Huey Lewis.

Huey has been one of my favorite artists since I was a kid. He's still got it!

The best drummer in the world.

Rock star Tyler.

Tyler wastes time while we're trying to pack up in the hotel.
DSC02571.jpg

No, really. Screw around some more. Derek will wait all day to take us to the airport.
DSC02574.jpg

"Hey, Ben! Gimme the camera! I wanna take a picture of the room from up here!"
Oh, yeah? How 'bout you come the hell down and PACK?
DSC02578.jpg

He then brushed his teeth for the fifth time that day.

Off to the airport! I miss California SO bad...

Somewhere, there may be a picture of me playing bass. Some nice lady, in whose way I always seemed to be with my dinky camera, was taking pictures all night. Perhaps one of them may surface.

What an amazing time and an amazing cause. Thank you SO much, Ball Family!

Sterling had, as always, some incredible food at his house. Kobe beef, kabobs, a huge bar and sushi (I still didn't have the guts to try it.) Tyler gave Brian a guitar lesson, I played bass on "I Saw Her Standing There" while Steve Morse and Jim D'Addario strummed acoustic guitars, and Tyler and I played a few tunes for everyone to general satisfaction. Ryan, Ernie Ball soundman extraordinaire, and myself attempted to tune 37 guitars so everyone could join in the jam. It was, needless to say, one hell of an evening.

Oh, yes. Kyle MacLachlan is one heck of a nice guy. Tyler and I really enjoyed visiting with him.
