Hey Now,

I happened to be watching one of the Mtv channels and caught a Good Charlotte video (The River ??) and despite the trendy fast cutting camera work I could swear I saw Benji rocking out on a Petrucci model.

* I just did a search for some pics and it may be his model in black but the video shows that really severe forearm contour like a Pet so....

Although I don't own any of their cd's I have to say they do come up with some pretty hook-filled riffs.

Then I open the latest Guitar World and there is a piece on Good Charlotte with a picture of the band. Benji is standing with a ridiculously neon pink (think CC Deville) EBMM coverd with stickers.

That video flicks through the images so quickly, how could you even tell? :p

You can freeze/pause frames. Looks like a Silo/BM shaped guitar from here.

I don't see why he would be playing anything other than his sig guitar, or maybe an old Silo. When we build guitars for artists, I build most of them, and I have never built a JP for him, but it's hard to tell what he is playing.

I hear ya Jon, and at first I thought it was a Benji Model; perhaps it's a combination of the ridiculous camera & lighting that's going on

on a side note, that bubblegum/neon pink EBMM he's shown with in GW is quite a color !!

And what do you play on your signature model? Oh, that's right, you don't have one.

Not sure if you get it, but this probably isn't the best place to bash an EB/MM endorsee.

Poiter...it has been re-hased before. Use the search function and you will find all kinds of information on Benji and his siggy. Honestly, how can you "lose respect" for EBMM for branching out to other artists of different musical genre's? I mean, should every artist be an elite God of his instrument before a siggy is made for them? I agree, Benji is not JP or Steve Morse. But, he is in a HUGE band that draws the attention of a younger crowd. That kind of attention gets EBMM attention. Makes perfect business sense. Just cause Benji doesn't shred, doesn't mean he is garbage. I am not a fan of Good Charlotte...my choice. However, he is probably a nice guy who is living his dream. He is one of the lucky ones to be able to do that and be successful. He plays EBMM and that brings in potential customers and future knuckleheads.

Many people buy their heroes siggy, and if he influences just one kid to pick up a guitar, EBMM or other, then that in of itself is making the planet a better place. So, if you don't like him...fine. Don't bash an EB artist on their forum. Not good form.

Benji does not own a Petrucci. He prefers stop tail guitars, and uses 12-56 gauge strings. The guitar is the video is his flat black textured MM signature that he has been using for the past couple of years.
