EBS man here, the HD350 is great amp, their Neo cabs are some of THE very best, exceptionally well made and rather light (very good for gigs) they do have a bit of a rep as a "slap or finger style amp" but wound up the gain a fraction more and you have a very versatile rock sound. With My set up just a slight tweak of the rays EQ I can go from Lizzy, to Chic, to Maiden to Motown and Funk all with the one amp setting. Geat stuff EBS.

Check THIS! JAGUAR Model 200...

Saw, then ordered at NAMM- "Boutique" amp Builder (mostly guitar amps, as the market calls for-) but the builder, Henry, is a bass-player who sought to re-create and exceed the tone he found in a Blueline SVT-
He succeeded, and then some.

If you think it looks good- then you need to hear it!
Absolutely astounding, amazing, incredible and more-

I used it in the studio for the first time with my Sterling, and it was the most even, unbelievably balanced tone I've ever heard come from a bass guitar amp- ever.
Wow. TOTALLY deserving of wider recognition in the world of Bass guitar amplification....

I still prefer my GK 1001RB-II. I have tried the Markbass LM II and didn't like it much (traded it for the GK) and I just purchased a Markbass F1 from GC but I will probably return it before the 30 days is up as I still prefer the GK (unless someone wants it for what I paid for it (I got a good deal on it)) :)

My current rig is a Hartke LH1000 with a Peavey Tour 410 Neo cab. I also use a DBX 160A to smooth things out. The bass is my '89 SR5 and I use the switch setting closest to the bridge.

Yes. But I also have an Eden 300T, and a Demeter Pre/Crown Power setup, and an SVT-350. I think my EBMMs sound best through the 2000s. That is, of course, just my opinion.

My EB 1996 Sterling i acquired a few weeks ago sounds awesome through my GK700RB with SWR 210 cab and Trace Elliott 410 cab.And no lack of bottom end using all 10 inch speakers.

I had a hartke 3500 and a SWR 400 head before getting my GK over a year ago.The new hartke died after a couple weeks had it fixed and traded it for my GK.I keep the SWR workinmans 400 head as a backup.

I use an ampeg SVT but the thing is a heavyweight beast. With a 4/10 top and for larger venues i add the 15 bottom. And for practice i use a bassman 135 head.
I kinda miss my GK700RB head, they are light, very veristile, and have plenty of power.

My SVT failed recently, and due to overwhelming praise bestowed by forum members, i bought a Markbass Little Mark II, signht unseen by web.
My intent was to have a more portable and low power alternative to the big ol' SVT 4PRO, and to use the Markbass until repairs were finished.

The Ampeg will be eventually repaired, and SOLD as soon as possible!!!

Markbass amps deserve the praise they receive here.
I am totally blown away, as are all members of several bands.
I use a few different cabinets, and the amp sounds great all around.
When I sell the SVT, I will buy one of the Markbass tube amps, and I plan on trying out some Markbass cabs as well.
Thanks to all of you, Maekbass has ANOTHER lifetime customer!!

I have an Ashdown 500W EVO head with a 4x10 and a 1x15 cab. It's served me well and there's plenty of warmth, tone and headroom so I never got swamped by the drums and guitar ;)

I don't know if this is the best amp for a Stingray but I do like it. My only complaint as I get older is the sheer weight of it. I did try a Markbass and thought it was great, especially with the low weight! The low end was amazing even through just 2x10's. I tested it with a no-name bass in the shop, though, I need to take my SR5 in and try it again in anger.

I use a Markbass SA450 through either a Genz-Benz 1x12 or an SWR 4x10 (depending on how loud I need to be). The only thing that I've heard not work so well with an EBMM bass was an SR5 going through a very old (1960s) Ampeg B15 - that didn't really work to my ears. Anything else is usually fine.

+1 for the Ashdown ABM500

I use mine with a 2x10 + horn and a 1x15 - both compact cabs - and for an old guy like me it's all v portable. Sounds great with my SR5 and SR4 - have you tried using the sub-harmonics and overdriving with the tube? Nice Muze-type sound.

I've tried the Markbass - an F1 through a 4 x 10 at a jam session, and my SR4HH sounded great - v impressive but not good enough to change my Ashdown.

So I'm not the only one then ;)

I bought my rig before the compact cabs came out so it's all no-nonsense full-size full-weight he-man kit.

I mainly use it with some tube drive, although I usually use it clean if I slap.

To be honest I haven't used the subs much live, I prefer to boost the mids and stop it getting too muddy. At home it's great for making the kids vibrate across the floor though...

We were down in Kent yesterday at my sister-in-laws (near Orpington) - whereabouts are you? Are you going to the bash?

Hi Greydad - Im in Sittingbourne - up towards the north-Kent coast.

You might get better tone from the he-man cabinets than mine - my 1x15 is particularly light but the 2 x10 is quite a heavy cabinet.

I'm not going to the bash unfortunately - clashes with a wedding :(
hopefully they'll have 25th Anniversary basses there.

Newbie question...since they're neighbors...anyone have any experience/comments with any of the Line6 LowDown products???
My guitar-playing neighbor has some of their pedals, effects and a small practice amp which produces some pretty cool tones...
Just wondering if anyone in the BASS world has a reaction to Line6 LowDown amplification???
Thanks in advance...

My combo amp is a Line 6 Lowdown LD300 Pro. Bought it new two years ago. I've used it for many gigs, recording sessions and rehearsals. My basses are all Stingray 5's or Sterling 5's.

I'll tell you that i've never had any problems with it and it always sounds great everytime I take it out. It handles my 5 string basses at loud volumes without any distortion or speaker farting while producing great tone.

My only wish for it is that Line 6 would make it in a tilt back monitor style cabinet. Personally, I don't care if it had an extension speaker output or not.
