"New Years Day" By U2. Adam Clayton is a bit underated at times, but he fits the songs well.

Heck yeah! You guys remember "Smooth Operator" by Sade? Bonus points for playing it on a Stingray, but can't remember the bass player's name.

Paul Denman was the guy. He did play a Stingray bass as well.

No love for The Cure's material in the 80's? Some nice basslines in there.

Love the line in Rio. When I'm feeling froggy, I set the metronome and play it straight 16ths. It takes some of the funkiness out of it, but it's a good workout a la rocco.

some of the stuff paul simonon was doing with the clash in 80's was pretty funkalicious... not bad for a self taught hack..

Oh, hell yeah! "Rockin' The Casbah" had one of the coolest and most memorable bass lines of the 80's!

"Itch In My Brain" by Todd and Utopia. Bassist: Kasim Sulton.

Almost anything from side 2 of the Tubes "Love Bomb".

Yes, the 80s sucked, everyone knows that, only they didn't if you looked hard.

Speaking of the Tubes, "Outside/Inside" had great bass lines throughout the entire album..."She's A Beauty" having a solid one itself!
