i like the single coil sound for blues. (not sure as far as EBMM models?)

i'll tell you what though, my 79' silverburst LP, on the neck P/U, has a great tone. really warm and muddy!!!

EBMM, I would give it to the Silhouette Special. Out of Fender and Gibson, it's gotta be a good strat (if you can find one - they are the most inconsistent guitars on the planet)

Well I have a Silhouette Special and an Albert Lee, I'd recommend both, but the AL with the MM90's I feel is the ultimate Str@t replacement. I'd say locate a dealer with both and test them for yourself.

Everybody knows you can't play no blues on a Gibson... Of course don't tell that to B.B. King. Come to think of it don't tell it to any of those other Gibson wielding bluesmen either.

Billy Gibbons / Eric Clapton now / Eric Clapton then

I guess you can get the best blues sound out of whatever you play IF
you can play the best blues with whatever you play.

Get what you like - I like Music Man they're great guitars- and play the snot out of it, then it will be the best blues sound.

Plus it doesn't hurt if your broke, tired, lonely, ugly and drunk

single coils.....humbuckers........combinations.......it's all there......

put just the 2 humbuckers on...dead on bb king and dicky betts.
put just the slant single coil on .......hendrix..& hendrix ripoff s.r.v.

bridge humbucker & straight single coil...sweet home alabama / zz top

IF only those two brands.....Strat. But, finding a good one is next to impossible these days. You gotta get an older one. I avoid both of those like the plaque anyhow. I hate the feel of them. So, I say, use them for firewood, grab an EBMM and sing about the guitars roasting blues.....

My Morse guitar gets a pretty decent blues sound with either of the single coils or the neck humbucker.

Some of this is going to be in you amp/fx signal chain and a lot of it will be in your fingers.

At first glance I wouldn't have thought of the Morse as a blues axe but after hearing and seeing Steve on a Deep Purple DVD that sold me.
