Here is a pretty good representation of what the Egnater EG5 sounds like when I play it with my EBMM Morse. I’m happy with these tones for the situation. I tracked this in the process of writing a new tune today (called Snuff Flick), but where the parts came to me out of order. The first section I tracked was the mixed meter verse beginning at :19 and it sounds a little darker than the rest for two reasons. I had another cab pummeling me in the control room, so it put more load on the power amp. Also, the presence and treble were too low. It actually sounds ok with the vocal that’s happening over the top.

I automated the doubled guitar off and on with each section so you can hear how they sound solo’d and doubled. I muted my vocal after the pilot voice to spare you all. Marco Minnemann will hit the drums for extra added sickness.

The Mod 50 head has 5881s, and there are two speakers being mic’ed by SM57s, a Eminence Governor and Wizard – mic on edge of paper and cone. The Governor gives more mids and the wizard has a nice sizzle. I like how they give me a more olds school tone that isn’t too modern (which I’m not always too wild about).

Not only is that riff awesome, the lyrics go hand in hand with it !!

nice work as always

perhaps you can edit in a snippet of James Woods dialogue from Videodrome to send it over the edge:D

Thanks, yeah the lyrics came first, so the guitar is in support mode here. I'll have to check that reference. This tune is critical social commentary about the strange fascination woth snuff flicks over the internet...sent around pretty much like violent porn...but with an emphasis on the internet/media angle.

Some cool riffs....

....love your HWM stuff.

Thanks man, this may be more HWM. Sounding more like a solo album, but probably just call it HWM anyway.;)

Rock on fogman! Yeah, the EG5 and Morse are a nice combination for me, the Morse makes it more safe and manageable than guitars with super high gain pickups. High gain pickups and the EG5 is like alcohol and firearms.
