I'm looking to pick up my 2nd Music Man soon and I'd like to know, where have you folks had the best luck ordering your basses? I'd like a decent price but I'd also like to order from a reputable dealer. Sure, I live 15 minutes away from a Guitar Center but they do nothing with their basses. I'd like to order from someone who's going to actually check out the bass, tweak the setup if necessary and make me feel good doing business with them.

So if you guys have some references I'm all ears. It's not everyday I buy a brand new bass (only 2nd time ever! ) so I'd like to place the order with someone who deserves my business.

Thanks all for your help!

You could try your fellow forumites, Pete DuBaldo or Doug (bassplayr). Both of them have a reputation around here for being upright, good guys with fair pricing.

I'm sure that many other forumites who have purchased from these guys would be happy to give a testimonial.

I've ordered from Bass Central and will do it again. I've bought local as well but I found the shipping cost is less than the sales tax in my state.

Yep, give the bidness to the forum guys if you can!

I've bought from Doug and wouldn't hesitate to do it five or six more times.

I ordered mine from Bass Central. They had exactly what I wanted already in stock. I also ordered my Eden WT-400 and Aguilar GS112 cab through BC with no problems at all.

I ordered a guitar from doug back in oct. I'd do it again. He hasn't been around much of late though.

Might go with Pete for my next one...but tires for my 4runner take priority right now.

To all my peeps giving me props on this here board: I appreciate your continued support.
In response to 2 posts here: Steve B's comment about being upright: I think Pete is the upright one while I'm generally UPTIGHT! And to KBAIM stating I haven't been around here lately: 'tis true my Californian friend, I haven't. Summer is really busy with preparing to move my store and playing the number of gigs in my rock-n-roll 80's cover band. I check in from time to time when I can here. But haven't had alot of time to post. I need to get a computer at my store so i can post more than Jack one of these days. Oh, and Jack when you're ready to buy 5 or 6 more times...you have my direct number!!

Wow, I've lived within 10 miles of Dubaldos for 50 years and never heard of it. Did it used to be a tiny place off any main drag in Manchester? I'll have to check them out.

That's what I'm thinking. Dubaldo's has to be maybe 10 minutes away from my place. :) According to their website, they're still in that tiny place just off Broad St.
