Fellas, this stuff is magic. I use it on my Harley
and now, my basses. I have the Fender/Meguires
metal polish and it sucks in comparison. If your
hardware is looking old & dull, this stuff will amaze
you

(this is not an advertisement, I nor anyone I know
works for this company :) )

if it does clean tuners, then its great.... (no big trouble to clean the bridge or neckplate, the major issue on musicman basses is tuners...) does it?

Yes. I recently purchased a 13 year old bass. I disassembled the tuners
& polished them with BOMs Away - they're new now.

Yep, looks good. Thanks for the info.

hi - thanks for the tip. i just picked up a bottle of bombs away. hopefully this will shine up the tuners on the 2000 stingray i just picked up. the tuners are hurting for a shining!

btw, dumb question but here goes: i've never removed the tuning machines from a bass. are there any "uh-oh's" that i should be aware of before i undertake this procedure, or is it fairly straight forward?

thanks,
tom

Tom, it's very ez. It's important to use
the perfect size phillips screwdriver so
you don't strip the screw heads. And
take note of the orientation of the tuner
parts (wheel, washer, plate/plastic piece).

Also, note tuner (B-E-A-etc) and try not to
interchange (put back in a different location).
They may be slightly different & not line up
with the screwholes from another tuner.

Follow the directions on BOM's Away &
do not overtighten screws.

Have a beer when you're done and admire
your new tuners ;)
