what is the best sounding rig to run an ernieball bass through (in you guys opinions)
 
My current rig is the best sounding one I've had by far (Ahsdown ABM500 Evo II + Hughes & Kettner BC410H). I once tried my SR5 through an Aguilar DB750 amp with a GS212 cab, and that sounded pretty sweet too. Eden stuff is also good for MM basses.

I use my "club rig" with a blues/jazz ensemble in small to medium-size rooms. It makes the Sterling sound just the way I like it. With a rock band I use an '89 SVT and either the 2X10 and an SWR Son of Bertha 1X15, or an SWR Goliath III (by itself). Outdoors I either use whatever backline is provided and hope for the best, or my SVT with the 1X15 and the 4X10. I've never had to turn the big (and heavy) Ampeg up past 1:00 o'clock, no matter how loud the guitars and drums and left-handed keyboard players get. I'm addicted to the power and punch of the SVT's 300 tube watts, which I can't seem to get from even a kilo-watt solid-state rig. I may be losing definition and resolution with the tubes, but at that volume I want to "move air" and shake the ground. Then I go back into a small club with the blues band and play nice with the Eden.

For me, it's always been Hartke... I cannot get enough of there "shape"! ;)

15" in the bottom... 4x10" on the top...
