you might have a point there...I actually sold my ST5's because they were a little to harsh for my ears. I like old school bass. Maybe that's why I got Group IV Flats on my SR5...
Or an old ceramic SR5 that is a "Sterling within a Stingray body" as Golem says)IMHO, the best 'Ray for mids might actually a Sterling...![]()

Close but not quite. It [dual PU option + piezos] IS available on an HH Bongo.
The Sterling has mids in excess. It also has the series/parallel/single coil switching that the single H stingray does not. When I want mids, I put it in that single coil mode and bump the mid knob up a few.
