Then why didn't it come with the coated ones?
coated are much more expensive and might not be to everyone's taste EB fits the strings that they know sell the most. i.e. more popular

My Stingray has had Super Slinkies on it since 1994, and it will get the Coated version next string change.
Super slinkys! I was gonna try the new coated ones but the price deterred me. Its around twice the price so i rather buy 2 packs of normal ones and enjoy the feel of fresh new strings instead of strings that remain 'fresh'.

flats on a bongo, rounds on everything else.. eb strings of course, gauge to fit your preferences. i like hybrids best.. oh.. and group 3 flats
