BFR - A question for you EBmm folks...

As best I understand it, and keep in mind I haven't had long conversations with anyone about all of this, the BFR instruments will be along the lines of the things we've seen Dargin and Dudley and the gang building, say, for BP.

Depending on supply, of course. So the black Bongo with the all-rosewood neck might be a good example. If the factory can get enough good rosewood to make a few, they make a few.

Dave LaRue's trans finished mahogany Bongo with the amazingly beautiful neck is maybe another good example.

Zat sound about right, Dargin? BP?

well, im not BP or Dargin but ill chime in and say that my understanding of the BFR is in line with Jack's. BP said something along the lines of "give people a chance to have 'these' types of instruments".

during the 2 o'clock discussion BP and Dargin commented on availability of certain species of wood... so, like jack said, my understanding is that some guitars are hard to put into full scale production due to supply - but when some "good" rosewood, koa, mahog, etc etc becomes available in the right sized blanks then a BFR instrument will be made.

as far as how many - again, i THINK, its a question of supply. and how can you get your hands on one? what dealer has "dibs"? how do we know if/when one is available? can you request a specific combo w/ color? well, that i dunno. BUT we all know BP and Dargin n crew are always giving us heads ups on stuff ... so when things get "closer" to happening im sure all the info will be available for our gawking pleasure.

From the weekend and various conversations I had with the good folks of EBMM my understanding of the BFR....

There will be no "choices" for the buyer.
It isnt a custom shop.
The people of EBMM will decide the spec dependant on availability of raw materials (koa or rosewood blanks for example).
A limited run will be produced.

We get to buy one :D

Well I'm waiting to see what Beth has to offer me in order that I dont post the photographic evidence of the weekend.

She made a big mistake giving ME the snake eyes - it was like she double dog dared me..........and then lost.
