Hi All--
I just received my BFR Petruccis, but I can't adjust the truss rod on one. It can increase the neck tension, but it won't decrease the tension. So, my neck has a convex curve that I can't change.

Has anyone else run into this problem? Is there a way to fix it, or will I have to send it back?
Thanks!

Hey Tony:

How do you like the BFR's so far besides the problem you mentioned. Is the feel different from the regular JP's.

BTW can't wait to hear your new music.

I responded to your postings on the JP Board. Did you get the Blackburst 7 yet?

I've yet to see a MM truss rod that didn't function. But it's possible it's just binding up somewhere. Maybe try loosening it and putting pressure on the neck - physically pulling it forward while pressing in the middle - before calling CS.

Also contact your dealer....

that was one of my first thoughts.... we are not only here to take your money( :p ) but also to service our customers and sales, I think I can speak for most EBMM dealers in saying that we reeeally do dig the gear we sell and want to help out after the guitar "has left the building"

I would try to make sure it isn't binding as well like beej suggested, and then call CS! POST PICS, coz we don't believe you have any BFRs if you don't. HAHA!

Welcome to the forum but you should know that it's not etiquette to post a problem without going through the proper channels first.

I had a problem and contacted my dealer - he sorted it out for me via CS. You're not just paying for the guitar but also the full support that you will get from the EB team.

The ground rules being set (it's akin to me telling my son's mates to take their shoes off before they hammer upstairs with mud and goodness knows what on their feet!) we would just love to see pics of that guitar.

Thanks for the help. And sorry if I stepped around the traditional etiquette regarding CS and posts. I just wanted to get some advice hear before I bugged CS. Hopefully, my comments weren't disrespectful. Obviously, I love these flippin' guitars!

Nah...you're fine. CS are really often the place where most questions can be answered. If they can't help you, maybe someone in repairs can help.

The problem with bringing a problem straight to the forum is that occasionally we've had problems with people coming and complaining about how EBMM sold them a piece of junk, it's not what he hoped, etc., and they're upset at the world. Of course, neither the dealer, nor EBMM has had the chance to help him out, and the hypothetical poster is already slagging the company. Then, the forum diehards ask, "Hey, why are you being such a jerk? Calm down. EBMM is great. They will help you if your dealer can't." Then, the poster gets mad that someone thought he was being a jerk, etc. It has spiralled out of control on occasion, but it usually has a very simple solution, i.e., 1. Call your dealer, and see if they can help you. 2. Call CS if your dealer can't help you to your satisfaction.

I hope everything works out for you. The BFR's are things of beauty and any problem that takes away from you enjoyment is a major downer. I gots me a trans-black 6 and my Bahama Blue 7 just arrived at Mr. Dublado's today.

Oh, Welcome Aboard.

I remember you from the Petrucci forum. You stated awhiles back that you own or owned a whole mess of Pets. So what's the deal, you still got a flock? How's about some pics?

Just so you know, I'm the resident Pet nut on this board.
