Greetings fokes!

First, happy new year to everyone! This is my first post here and I hope that you will be helpful. I'am geting a BFR Petrucci model in April and I don't like the pickups (i hate dimarzio) but I do like the guitar it self very much. So the question is can I put the Suhr Doug Aldrich set in it? Are they the same size as the Dimarzio?

Thank you very much!

Joško :)

You should be able to put those pickups in without a problem, BUT you may have to file down the mounting ears. The DiMarzio pickup ears are triangular, while the Aldrich pickups have square ears. You could always take it to a tech and I'm sure they'd be happy to do it for you.

Have you played a BFR Petrucci before? If not, I'd give the pickups a chance as they're voiced perfect for that guitar and you may like the results.

tnx for replay!

my friend got the same guitar. i took for a 2 months so i can explore it before my order. everything is perfect except the pickups. i have the aldrich set in my silhouette and it sings so nice but the d sonic in the bfr is the one i don't like. so only thing i have to do is take it to some good tech for instaling?

thank you very much!

The D Sonic takes some getting used to, I think. But again, the Aldrich might not work well in the BFR. Different woods. Take note of that.;)

Just buy a Steve's Special for the Bridge. That is nearly the same as the custom bridge in the original Petrucci. I really like the Petrucci pickups in mine, which do not have the D-Sonic. But I would probably like the D-sonic, I do like the X2N. Though I will say this: Try the guitar with the pickups the it the way it is from the factory for a while, you may find you really like it. EBMM picks very good pickups to match the particular model. I used to not like EMG's that much but in the LUKE they sound incredible.
