BFR JP6 vs PRS Custom 24

i'm not here to start arguments like everyone else I add my thoughts and try to contribute to areas where i have had experience and I feel that my comments were not out of line nor disrespectful to either company and or parties that have both guitars. Our thoughts are aired for others to add too, agree with and most certainly disagree with I just ask that when quoting me it is done without misrepresentation of the initial post.
Please allow me to clarify for you my post.
As stated in the initial post I was in the market for a new guitar about a month ago and my price range and requirements brought me to two well known and respect companies. Ernie Ball Music Man and PRS. I was looking for something in the 24 fret range and dual humbuckers. After further research i narrowed it down to two specific models either PRS Custom 24 or an EBMM 20th Silo. After playing a PRS and Various EBMM the feel and fit of the EBMM's seemed to fit me and my style perfectly and it was a no brainer. In my initial post i said that my friend (not me) refers to them as the trophy wife of guitars. if i truly felt they were nothing special i wouldn't have considered purchasing one.
In no way was i mudslinging any brand...

I didn't read your post that way either. Guitars are just too personal to put in a which is better scenario, both companies are high up the food chain and make great stuff. Even all the different EBMM's are radically different among themselves.

in terms of features, the JP BFR has more. piezo, more complex body wood (both guitars have maple top, but hte BFR has a tone block, notice i just say more complex, not better).
PRS has more pickup options, as in 5 way selector i think or something like that

the above is fact.

as for personal differences:

PRS 25" scale, BFR 25.5" scale (practically the same, almost negligible to most)

mahogany neck vs maple neck

as for my opinion, i think the BFR has better high fret access and a far better tremolo, those JP custom bridges or whatever are really nice.

As for pickups, the JP pickups (the new ones, liquifire and the other one) are really amazing, cant honestly remember what the PRS ones sounded like.

Both are equally great guitars,It comes down to personal taste everytime,I think where the main difference becomes apparant for me at least,I've always felt my prs's were like furniture while the balls all feel like guitars built to be gigged,If i mark the jp i'll be upset but nowhere near as much as if i'd damaged my old custom 24 in gretch orange.
The Ernie ball guitars are like the snap on tools of the guitar world.

Fair enough - that was a bad post edit on my part and the thread is asking for a comparison between the 2.

as with anything its going to boil down to what fits your personal tastes and playing style the best. For most of us we will side with EBMM but respect the other as well...
I would go into your local shop and take your amp with you (if you're planning on buying a guitar of either calibur they won't argue) and see how it sounds with your set up. give yourself plenty of time to establish a groove and feel for the guitar. This is what i did and for me the EBMM took no time at all to get a feel for the guitar. I think you will find the same results... if not we won't burn you at the stake. :D

Sixtyfour- no worries about the post edit- i didn't want to come across as a mudslinger.

HEY I FINALY GOT MY HANDS ON PACK OF RPS's lol.
i dont know what all the fuss is about. BP still comes out on top. hello the prs needs to be stringed just like the jp. lol music man fan for life .

I think the answer to this is really just play both. I know you have hard access to any of the instruments, but this is serious money we're talking here.

Paying for it without having played it is a serious gamble. I personally couldn't buy an instrument on pictures and words alone. I just can't no matter how credible an opinion is. The instrument needs to suit ME, and that can be very particular.

Do your best to play both.
