Saw this on the Seymour Duncan board in a thread discussing the Luke. Can anyone confirm/deny this?

one thing i found out about the newer EB MM Family Reserves with soild Rosewood Necks is they all have the same neck profile... they all use the Silliette neck back shape.. if it is a regular maple neck they are different back shapes per model... but for rosewooed necks they use all the same neck... still a very nice neck!!!!

the only Rosewood neck EB MM has put on their guitars with a different back shape is the Axis Rosewood model from a few years ago... it had the EVH back shape...

I always felt like my JP Rosewood neck was much fatter than my others. I have since sold it so I can't compare.

Not in my travels. JP BFR = JP standard neck. Different from other BFR models for sure.

We're talking about the limited run of Rosewood neck BFR's, right, not the regularly available BFR models?

ain't what you call "fart" in english :p ;)

Yeah, but this guy is following through and talking sh!t.

My BFR RW Luke's neck has the same profile as a standard Luke, and is NOTHING like a Silhouette neck.

Either
(i)this guy's played one of the 25 25th anni's with RW neck (which is similar to Silhouette) and got confused, or

(ii) he's just a knob.

I'll go for option (ii) ;)

That guy must be confused. The rosewood BFR necks all used the same profile as whatever guitar they went on. If you ordered a rosewood neck on a JP it would have the JP profile, on an AL it would have an AL profile, etc. The 25 rosewood neck 25ths had a Silo Special rear profile with 12" radius (which was the same profile as the rest of the 25ths).

Must have just been the feel of the neck messing with my head.

Please feel free to enter some sort of lefty bashing comment now.

I had the same feeling, it's totally in our heads. I think when you play an all rosewood BFR neck, it doesn't have that separation of rosewood neck and maple back. Instead, you are playing one solid piece of rosewood which to the eyes SEEMS thicker. It's not.

If it helps any, I can personally verify that the RW Luke, RW JP6, RW Y2D, RW Axis and RW 25th Anniversary all have different neck profiles to each other, and are all the same profile to their individual Birdseye maple sisters......... :D

OK Lets try to give the propoganda speading self proclaimed expert the benefit of the doubt. Its the internet. Its full of falsities...and Im not just talkng about the girlie sites. hehehe

I do hear that the new seymor duncans use a thinner wire then they used to.....JUST kidding....If you want good seymour go to his site..but please dont go there for Music Man info ...B2D Seymours Duncans forum is the best...right?

This person is misinformed and is spreading bad info. The rosewood for each guitar is carved just like its maple brother...Do you guys really think that JP would play a different one or that Luke would accept JP's.
