BFR Pricing

I was looking, once again, at the JP BFR thread pictures and drooling over them as usual when I decided to google "BFR ball" and I got 62,600 hits (gotta love google). The first two were to this forum (gotta love this forum), the third was to dubaldomusic (gotta love them), the fourth was junk, and the fifth was to a vintage guitar shop.
I clicked on elderly and got to this site
It gives a list price for the BFR to be 4,000 dollars!! I'm sorry if posting this violates forum rules but I'm pretty sure someone said list price discussion is okay. 4,000 bucks?!? They mention that they have a quilted walnutburst top but how would they know if it was quilted or flame? Isn't it just luck of the draw?

Well, you have to consider many factors. First that its not okay posting street prices here, and second that a retail price it's not the sale price. And finally yes the last thing I heard you couldnt choose the top, which for me is a huge letdown I understand why is this but also if I'm purchasing something, I like to know exactly what I'm getting.

Hi Guys,

you are right....BFR's are all luck of the draw as far as getting a flame or quilt tops goes(all tops with be amazing pieces of wood, either way). However keep in mind that many dealers have ordered multiple BFR JP F-1's and Luke's. Those dealers will be able to provide their customers with the choice of a flame or quilt top from their own stock. However I would suggest contacting the said dealer directly to obtain specific information from them directly.

germangallardo i didn't post a street price!! The site says that the "list price", or retail price, is 4000 dollars. I won't post their sale price.

Yes. I heard that the list price will be $4000. However, in reality, it's probably less than that, of course. I can tell you I am not going to be charged $4000 by my dealer. The price I am getting is considerably less than that. It's also less than what I would pay for what I believe to be a comparable PRS. I am getting a piezo with my F-1. So, I'm getting an amazing feature that you won't find on that PRS. I think I am still getting great value compared to what else is on the market. I think the price I am paying is very reasonable. Plus, it's backed by a great dealer and a great manufacturer with excellent customer service.

oo sorry rob I missed your post. I realize that sale prices won't be as high as 4000. And to be honest, I'm confident these guitars will be awesome and if I had the money even 4000 wouldn't be bad to pay. I just had a little shock...

The Petrucci BFR pricing was discussed when it was announced a while back. MSRP is $3,999 and $3,499 for the Luke.

Oh. Regarding the top. It is luck-of-the-draw, as has been said. The simplest explanation for their saying that they will have a quilted walnut burst is that they don't know what they're talking about. It is not uncommon for a dealer to give a customer incorrect information. Your best sources of information are EBMM, a knowlegeable dealer (like the ones we have on this forum), and other forum members. All those people come to this forum. Those are the people you should believe if you have any doubts about the veracity of information given to you by a dealer.

germangallardo- No hard feelings =). I too would love a bahama blue burst F-1. They haven't made any yet so no pics right? And my second choice is definitely ruby.
roburado- I definitely trust you guys a lot more than any dealer (excepting the ones on this forum of course =p), which is why i asked you =). Thanks for your help.

BFR Luke in Germany

Oh lucky you, fellow forum members over there in the States & Canada...

...I just missed out on a Dargie Delight Luke a dealer in Germany had in stock (gone now - boo hoo!) and we discussed a bit further. He told me he had a sort of reddish BFR Luke on order and the German LIST PRICE was € 4000,-.

Oh dear - that would currently represent about US $ 5430,-...

AAAAARGH !
