I think this is probably the best place to ask, since Big Poppa hangs out amongst us when he's not too busy choosing the woods himself and test driving all our orders (guitars and basses)
Was speaking with a dealer today. I was asking them if the website was update because they have some guitars I'd like to try as I can't make my mind up. He said they had them in, and that they could email me if they did sell any of the guitars. But they stock wouldn't be updated as they wouldn't receive more BFRs.
Then he comment (we were chatting about the most profitable time being right after a dream theater or etc gig because people think they can sound like EVH or JP etc. just a casual banter) that even for people that are not great players the guitar value will go up as they are becoming collection guitar as they can't get more they are not in production anymore?.
After I hung up the phone, i had that "HANG ON!!!!!" feeling.
Are BFR's being discontinued in the near future? I found it hard to believe as in NAMM they announced the changes to the JP's BFR (now all will come with SS frets, etc.)
Again, I don't want to cause panic, just hoping that someone from EBMM or someone informed can confirm or dismiss these rumours. I probably misunderstood, and we were screwing around having a happy banter, or he didn't explain himself properly.
(I did try to call back, but he had left for the day)
(I emailed Nick at the Musicman UK distribution as he been very kind to answer my questions in the past)
There's a chance I might pickup a JPXI this weekend. just want to know what I might be up against?
