Good evening all !
I wonder if there are any plans of a BFR version of the Silhouette Special celebrating its 30th anniversary. Can anyone of the forumites confirm such plans?

That would be super cool if there was!!!! I can see it now. reverse headstock, ebony fret board, roasted maple neck, Purple Dawn or something dark blue sparkle, chrome hardware, both matching and nonmatching head stock options, and a pickguard like not other that just screams super cool!!!!

(DROOL)!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How about all of that but with NO pick guard?

I'm baffled why they currently only offer it in one color. Do they not sell well nowadays?

The Silo and Silo Special probably aren't puling the numbers. And think about it the Cutlass is really a replacement for the Silo Special in ways. People always complained about the Silo and Silo Special as being too small. Just my thoughts.

I could see the HT pickups in it maybe.

The Silo has been a BFR, the Silo Special hasn't seen much love.

I really fancy the smaller body shapes and I wouldn't mind if the Silhouette Special would get updated electronics, e.g. like the Cutlass....

I could never jive with a Silo Special. The body is actually differently shaped than a Silo (non-Special) -- the horns are different to account for the 22-fret instead of 24-fret -- and it feels off to me given that I have about 1000 hours of playing time on my black Floyd Silo. When I pick up a Special it just feels wrong to me compared to the Silo.

In any case, I have discussed the Silo with the guys at EBMM and you're right, it just doesn't sell compared to the JP/Majesty lines, the Cutlass, etc. I think they keep it around because it's the root of the EBMM guitar DNA, but don't take too many orders for them. I agree that one beef I have heard from many people is that it's too small. I have always seen it as "less cumbersome" than a Str@ or Cutlass. I have a couple Cutlasses and like them, but they feel HUGE to me compared to my trusty old Silos or Axis/EVH or even Majesty.

I'd love to see this, all the silhouette drops are so far and few between. Like the 2019 music zoo run of those amethyst silhouettes, or the one vault release, or the sweet water releases. As a proud owner of 3 silos. I think they're super underrated and need more love.

also feel like they would do really well if marketed more toward the prog/math rock/ instrumental crowd better. There really isn't a proper EBMM marketed toward them aside from a couple artist series (mainly the JP's).

I have way too many thoughts about this haha

I had a cutlass for a little while. Great guitar. If it had the old bridge and no buffer, I would have hung onto it.

If people like small guitars (which it sounds like they don't), the Stingray II is pretty darn small! Though it has dual humbuckers instead.

I loved the new styling of the Stingray II, so I bit - but it does take a little getting used to.

Thanx man, not my cup of tea, I've got 2 Silo Special and really bond soo well with them.
