Luc you must have:

1.Great mother that will take a half of a day in california to take a pic of a guitar.....

2. A really smart sister to choose San Diego!

1. Due to her visit to my sis she won't be here on my birthday, so that's the price she's gonna have to pay.:D

2. Well, at least she is smarter than I am! My sister has a placement in San Diego, and she will fly to Holland at the end of july. Wish she would come home half a year later, then i'll have the time to save some money for a BFR Luke that she can bring home for me. Maybe as a late birthday present?:D

Oh well, must be dreaming:eek:

I'm gonna try to get to the Manhattan store to play that one. Still, it makes me sad to think of the abuse it's going to take there.

I stopped by the San Marcos store last night on the way to a gig. BFR not in yet. Though it shows on the computer as IN TRANSIT!

I'll try that tonight when I get home: "A hun, I want to buy another Petrucci but only because I want to save it from... from... teenagers."

Or middle aged bankers with no chops on lunch break.

Played it a bit today at the Manhattan GC. It's flame for those interested. The Pet neck is still not for me, but the finish did make it feel a tad thicker in my hands than the standard, which I would actually prefer.

I can't provide a full sonic description since A. I didn't play it long or loud and 2. I wouldn't be the most qualified to do it. But I can say it is a stunning instrument and the fit and finish outstanding.

Getting the case at GC

Are you sure you're being charged *extra*? The last 3 guitars I purchased from GC had the case listed as a separate line item, but the original price was reduced by the amount of the case.

Price quoted for the Guitar = $1,000

Receipt looked like:
Guitar - $ 900
Case - $ 100

Total - $1,000

The bottom line is that I paid the original price quoted, but the case was a separate line item. Apparently they inventory the guitar and cases as individual pieces and need to account for them separately?

I'm not saying this happens in all instances, but that's been my experience.

fred

Fred,

You are correct. The way our inventory system operates, we have to seperate the guitar from the case when it arrives at the store. The guitar goes out on display and the case stays in the back. When the guitar and case are sold, the pricing scenario you described above is what occurs. It's hard for hundreds of sales people, many very new to the business, to explain this.

I thank you for sharing your insights and experiences.

Regards,
Phil

Saw a couple of those today. They were in Manny's on 48th. They were looking at the Anderson's and a used Suhr. Jag #1 points at the Suhr and says to Jag #2, "That's what I want. A $3500 Shure". So Jag #2 says, "Absolutely man. Shure's are awesome".
