Guys,

I'm having some serious GAS pains for the ole Big Al SSS. I've had my Bongo HH now for about 3 weeks and loooove it. But the more and more I study this Big Al seems so appealing. For those that have both, heck for anyone that's played either.....one bass, desert island.....Big Al or Bongo?

Me? Big Al - greater variety of tones, plus has the passive option, and even more ergonomic than the Bongo (and that's saying something). And, it's got push button controls - how cool is that!

Big al is a swiss army knife. Perfect for the desert island. For our members on here from Switzerland, maybe you can explain the Swiss army knife thing.

The only Bongo I've played is one in a local store that isn't set up great. The only Big Al I've played was in the Guitar Center in NYC and it was also set up pretty bad; for me the Big Al may have more versatility but I'm not a big fan of the thinner neck. Best of both worlds? Reflex (or even better: Game Changer).

Update: Just pulled the trigger on a Burst Big Al 4SSS used in the San Jose GC. Can't wait to get my hands on it!

If the Big Al can pull off the P thing like everyone says this could clear up some basses on my rack.

Thats like asking to choose one child over the other..can't be done.

Which is why I have a Bongo 4HH and a Big Al 4SSS. Two perfect yet different basses. I love them both.

Thanks fella's. The Big Al will be here this Thursday. I can't wait to get it plugged in and hear all the tones that can come out of it.
