Ed, Thanks a bunch! I watched it several times last night...My favorite current setting is passive all buttons up (rear and mid pups in series).

Ed,

Thanks for that great review!!!!! I always enjoyed your reviews... esp. your MM ones ;)

That bass has so many tonal options.... I wish my GC would get one in so I could take it for a test drive... :D

BP... I think you have been talking my Fiance and just tormenting me by making the perfect bass I could play ;)

Thanks all... Wait for the full review video, it is exhaustive! I figured they put all those sounds in there, SOMEONE has to play them all!

Ed It comes with the territory....I got just killed on you tube with Petrucci....They dont think more than a half inch deep....Like If I didn't organize it and pay for it and go to the trouble they would not have the vids.....

I hope all understand that we are just trying to make better basses. It isnt world peace and if someone doesnt like it there is someone that is over the top happy that another choice has hit the market instead of a same ol with a new retro color

If I focused on the negative I would be done.....I love the research and development too much to listen

BP, I hear ya. I think Ricky Nelson said " you can't please everyone so you got to please yourself".

On another note... I've been really digging on the passive mode on the 25th... It's got this earthy midrange that sounds amazing. This bass is a winner.

And the more I listen to the Al, the more I dig it. It is truly a Swiss Army bass. Kudos to y'all!

I would say that TB thread was a waste of time except it pointed me to Ed's Palm Muting preview. Thats some greasy funk. Damn!

Is the full lesson available yet?

Never heard one bass that had all those tones. Might the Big Al tempt me away from my Bongo when the 5 string is released?

Ed, great vid thanks for the preview. What I really like is the way you're just enjoying the thing, "ok, here's this sound, right, here's the next..." and it comes across that you're really digging it :)

Love the way the 25th is just casually hanging there in the background too LOL :D

I liked this comment on Talkbass:

"I'd go for a Bongo before the Big Al. Big Al is just TOO out there for me. Sounds Great but I'll admit I'm very traditional when it comes to basses"

So the Bongo has now become traditional?... :D

Being an ex-bass player (I played bass for 20 years) I am astounded by the tonal palette this bass covers!

It seems to have all the sounds you would ever want out of a bass, for all styles, in one compact design.

Whoever thought of this is very, very clever indeed!

Heck - makes me want to start bass playing again!

:)

Well, one thing is for sure: The "MusicMan Bass Sound" definition will give the EBMM Marketing department a bit of a challenge for the brochure copy :)

I mean, I did a quick count of Pickup configurations, Magnets, Switching...for all the models..Ray, Sterling, Bongo, 25th, Big Al....

You could get about 20 basses, and they'd all get you a ton of tones...
