Ernie Ball/Music Man would like to welcome Stan Sargeant of the Tonight Show (Kevin Eubanks Band) as the newest member of The Music Man family.

Stan is playing the Bongo Bass nightly reaching an audience of nearly 10 million households worldwide.

An extremely gifted and versatile bassist, Stan is positioned behind and slightly to the right of Kevin Eubanks (musical director).

Stan Sargeant joined the Kevin Eubanks Band after he performed on “The Tonight Show” with Barry Manilow. Sargeant, who first met Eubanks while working as house bassist for “The Howie Mandel Show” in 1998, has performed with numerous artists including Lou Bega, Dianne Caroll, David Foster, Mike Post, Vanessa Williams and many others.

(You may notice that his basses are left-handed, which we are planning to offer at a forthcoming NAMM show.)

I'll tell my [lefty] bass player to start watching so he can see what's in his future... ;)

Stan is one of the sickest bass players I have ever heard. My jaw was on the floor when he plugged into an Audiophile at NAMM.....

YES!!! The news I’ve been waiting for! (And it wasn’t that long of a wait!) I’ve got the money (… well my wife does), and it was my birthday yesterday, SO I’LL TAKE ONE!!!

Hey do any of you EBMM guys know if the piezo option will be available for the lefty version? I was told it wasn’t when I ordered my SR5

Could I also blatantly bribe somebody in the shop to hide a can of that buttercream for my Bongo? (My Bongo… I like the way that sounds. :D )

Piezo will not be an option on any left handed basses. We will probably keep Buttercream around until the end of the year.

Thanks Dargin,

The piezo option seems to be more popular for a fretless and I’m not a fretless guy, so no big deal.

Is it possible to pre-order a lefty Bongo, or should I take a cold shower and calm down? I will only be able to get one Bongo for the moment and I’ll need the help of the forum members to decide on pickup configuration, I’m pretty sure about the color though. :D

Thanks again,

Chuck

Take a cold shower! As soon as we are ready to take orders we will let you guys know! We knew that we would get requests and questions about this model once people saw it on the Tonight Show.

just sticky the damn thread already :D

While I am left handed and play the bass hanging on the wall I want. Some folks must be more left handed than I. A left handed sticky? I am betting more of us left handers learned to get along than refuse to. Let's bet

I'm a lefty, but I play right handed. It's the only concession I've made to the righty world.

same here

I am the same. Left handed and play right handed. When I was a kid the price of left handed fretless basses was prohibative....so just kinda stuck with it.

This is the only concession I have made too. At school they tried to make me write right handed by tying my left hand behind me - nothing like an Northern English education!
