Bill Lawrence, engineer, inventor, and legend in pickup designing, the man who made some of the best pickups ever put in a guitar has passed. I know I speak on behalf of the whole forum in passing our sincere condolences to his wife, Becky, and the rest of his family. The guitar industry has lost a legend.

God bless you, Bill.

I owned two Bill Lawrence Teles in the late 80's. I wish that I would have never sold them. The pickups were great, guitar build quality was great. What an innovator he was. Sad.

Oh no! This is such sad news. I've been a fan of his work for years- my main guitars all have BL pickups. Though I never met him, I'd spoken to Bill many times on the phone and learned a lot from him and his work.

RIP.

So Sad. Bill and Becky were great to deal with. I believe I still have a 500xl somewhere in my house. I got to keep hold of that.

Bill and Dimebag must be having a blast now. RIP

OH NO! :( Rest in Peace, Bill. My L500XL humbucker is still my favorite.

Sad to hear, prayers for his family. My tele has his pickups in it, that guitar just flat out kicks butt.
