I wish I knew how to make it the correct size.

Heres something interesting I read on another board

Just some food for though before James chimes in - I've got a flatsawn Warmoth maple neck, and a quartersawn Fender maple neck. The flatsawn Warmoth neck has not shifted a bit ever since I did the first setup on that guitar last year, and it's been exposed to many climate changes since I leave it all around the house or garage and it has no case. It's more stable than the Fender neck, that has not been bad, but has needed a bit of adjustment here and there. The reason why? The dual action truss rod in the Warmoth neck. So personally, I wouldn't put too much concern on stability as far as sawing methods go, since it doesn't need to be a concern if you get a stable truss rod inside it.

I only posted this cause I noticed they mention sawing quite abit in the 'debate'

If the neck warps sideways or twists (as has happened to me), no truss rod is going to help you :(

I'll just close with this- if Sterling, Dudley and folks at MM were worried about stability they wouldn't make necks with any birdseye in them. But they do. Good enough for them, good enough for me.
