WOW....to be 16 again....man, I miss those days....you must really have a passion for guitar in order to give up a car to want a guitar.

As for your choices....I never played a Peavey...so I cannot comment on that one. However, there are quite a few peeps here who own or have owned one who can give you the 411 on it.

Personally, I love the look of quilted maple and that green quilt Axis is killer. I have played an Axis before and can attest to them being some killer guitars. I personally play EBMM Pets, but that green one is mighty sweet.

My opinion...the green quilted Axis.....

BTW, have a happy birthday. :D

Just my take, but...

YOU IDIOT!

Get the car. Try to work out a deal where maybe you get a used olp for $100 or so AND the car. :D

Upgrade the guitar in the next year or two.

You can't make out in your guitar ;)
KEITH

And Happy Birthday.

I could not answer that being I never played a Wolfie....never really had the desire to. I am strictly an EBMM player because of how great and versatile these guitars are. I am very picky in how a guitar "feels" in my hands. I had a custom made Ibanez for many years until I picked up a EBMM JP-6. That was the day my Ibanez was retired. I have since bought a total of 3 JP's and have played both the Axis and the Axis SS. I have heard some great things about the Wolfie's, but again, I never played one. Personally, I think you will love the Axis. If you can, play one if you haven't already. It is always good to know that you are going to like what you get especially on a higher end model axe. I think you will agree that the Axis is a wonderful guitar and very versatile. It is going to be my next EBMM guitar that I buy. Hope this helps. BTW, I believe there are different models of Wolfgangs. Some are "lower" end models. All EBMM are the same in construction quality. High end. There are different configurations, but not a lower end Axis if you get my meaning. Plus, the quilt top is a $500 extra I believe. So, the green quilt is a steal in that alone!

My 2 pennies.

I have three things to say, first off OC is right, chicks dig the DJ these days here in NYC, two the green quilt is sweet and third get the car dude, by the time you turn 17 your gonna need a way to get out of your house whenever you can and plus your gonna want to get around so get the car, grab a cheapo, and then save for an axis -

Happy Birthday.

You gotta go for the car. I've been playing for 14 years now and have owned a fairly limited number of guitars in that time - when I've found something real comfortable and easy to play I've stuck with it, then I recently played an Axis...game over!

What I'm getting at is it takes years to find your technique and playing style, and I think most players would attest that they are still developing it. It'll be a long time before you know what instrument will be REALLY right for you, so get the car and a beat up OLP and have some fun, the same opportunity probably wont come around again.

Lecture over  :) ;)

Is it really aan extra $500 for a quilt finish? I thought they were the same price........just the premium tops costing $500 more, wether they be a flame or quilt?

Id personally get the guitar over a car. Cars can just cause more problems and cost too much to run at 16! You have plenty of driving time coming up in your life.....play the Axis stress free while you can :D
Oh yeah, I love the black Axis's. I looked at that one myself actually..........then realised I have absolutely no money

Happy birthday too and if you decide on a guitar I'd go for either the green Axis or the one with P90's. Good luck!!

TAKE THE CAR :D

You can always work out a deal for a OLP or maybe even a SUB for Christmas or another milestone if you show how responsibly you handle the vehicle.

Plus, although for $900 you can never convince your average 16 year old girl that the used 1993 Saturn you just got is the ultimate car. However, when you pick her up in that Saturn and take her out to show her some licks on one of the "best guitars you can get" ;) ;) VERY IMPRESSIVE.

Rambling on about the production quality of your guitar and the deal you got on a premium quilt top while offering her a ride on your ten speed will get this

Just my 2 cents and, if you still want the other guitar now - always go green :D

The Axis is sweet. I own both a Wolf and a number of different Axis models, and I would choose an Axis over a Wolfgang any day - doesn't mean I don't like the Wolf, but I don't think it's in the same league as my Axes...

...see? Pops can't be breaking our boy off a beat up '72 Ford if he's shelling out 9 large for a guitar.

Betcha it's a dual-ie...now, get the damn guitar and shut up already! :p

And you know the drill...PICS! :)
