Well, i personally love translucent any color. i.e. trans orange, maple fretboard, white perloid pickgaurd, matching headstock.
ANother setup is the White with rosewood fretboard, black pickgaurd and matching headstock. apperanly this is the mary kaye setup...but i looks sick!

You should go to http://www.mmbasscentral.com/ and check out what all the combos look like. But do keep in mind, it is slightly different than real life.

In my opinion, i think u should look into SWR amps, they rule...of course i may be a little biased..

Any color you go for. it'll stilll be sweet, and a StingRay, so i can't see you going wrong.

The sparkle finishes are awesome, but it's possible you'll get alder instead of ash, since grain pattern is unimportant with opaque finishes. The blue dawn is great, but very subtle...you won't see a huge amount of sparkle except under strong spots. However, the combo of blue to dark purple is amazing. The autumn burst is beatiful, and I think there's some type of crimson burst that also looks really good.
