Don't forget to factor in strings, amps and cabs; what kind of tunes, rooms etc.

I used to think I liked maple better, but now I have no preference, really. I would pick the finish/pg you want and then pick the fretboard based on which looks nicer. My rule of thumb is that light color PGs look better with maple, and dark color PGs look better with rosewood.

Well I decided on HS configuration on my SR5. And a rosewood board. Honeyburst with a tort guard. Thanks to James at The Perfect Bass and the fact that I had some credit on the books there, I pulled the trigger. Should be here on Friday.

Thought about a DD order - but green is not my color. The DD does look cool though.

Now if there was a limited edition in a nice cabernet or merlot red with maple board and wine glass inlays.................. :D

I’ve drifted towards rosewood boards, I have several maple boards, but I just can’t tell any difference. Rosewood just seems to be easier to care for.

The only (at the moment) H/S I own is Jewel (Bongo 5) and I love it! The single coil that the boys at EBMM have come up with is Killer; I’d love the option of two of those.

But hey, I’m about as happy with my MM’s as a lefty could be!:D

FedEx just delivered my new SR5HS - it is gorgeous. About to take it home from the office and plug it in. Will post pics later.

That's not very sporting at all; :confused:
you're supposed to ship via OOPS so that you have horrendous freight damage and destruction to report;
as it is, you've just deprived an entire segment of cyberplace population their routine servings of Friday night fright and horror;:eek:
think of all the partneral abuse that's now about to happen on your account of chosing Not to ship OOPS :p

OK, so where are the pics ?? ;)

Beautiful bass guitars. I assume that you must really like the HS pickup combination, since you now have two Stingrays with that combination.

Best wishes,

Yep - I like the tone of the HS configuration. I also like the looks/layout/spacing of the HS a bit better than the HH. That had some bearing on my choice of the HS over the HH on the SR5.

The 4 string is a Sterling..........
